LCD TV Philips 47PFL9732D 47 inches / 119 cm

47-inch Full HD 1080p slab, Ambilight, Perfect Pixel HD, 100 Hz, HD and Natural Motion ... The Philips Cineos 47PFL9732D is undoubtedly a high-end screen.
His diagonal 119 cm in places, it's the least we can say. And it makes good with its 40.4 kg on the scale. Values that require the presence of two persons to install this beast on a piece of furniture or on a wall.

Once in place, this TV offers many opportunities for tuning ... So numerous that the beginner will sometimes have trouble making sense of it all. To assist, Philips has added an assistant to his installation menu. Once it selects a series of images, divided into two, appears. The user chooses each of them on the party of which he prefers rendering (right or left side). At each of these images is associated filter or adjustment, the TV automatically adjusts accordingly. The same process is applied to the sound.

Many filters offered by the Cineos 47PFL9732D allow you to customize the display. It offers all is not immutable characteristics, whatever the setting of these filters; starting with the black level too high. Indeed, settled on a brightness of 374.4 cd / m, black people from falling to 0.52 cd / m, offering a poor 720:1 contrast. A value far cry from the 0.20 cd / m of the best screens. In the same way, it is very difficult to achieve a color temperature close to 6500 K. We have qu'approcher the 7800 K by adjusting the temperature on hot. The display is therefore still drawing an image on the slightly blue. As for the color, but not bad, it is not a model of precision and has an average of the screens tested. Fortunately, the gray are fairly neutral and produce an image that does not leave too perceive colorimetric drifts.

It should also be borne in mind that on a large 47-inch diagonal (119 cm), we see clearly the limits of the DS. Even our platinum does not compensate the definition SD (576 lines) of the DVD. In HD (720p) or Full HD (1080p) that we find an excellent display resolution.
However, this good resolution also highlights some problems associated with HD Natural Motion. As a reminder, this process creates images between images encoded on the source, the aim of fluid movements. And it works! Set to Means, NM HD meets his office, without giving this "video" that can be found on other models. However, a phantom image around fast moving objects. An even more glaring failure if we rule - what we do - the HD NM maximum. In addition, this filter interferes with scaling and reveals artifacts. And that's a shame, because HD NM disabled, the films seem to be very jerky. We must therefore choose between jerks or artifacts in the images.
